Custom Designed Trailers for you

Trailer built to haul 6 canoes with full length custom bent fenders/steps, and lockable enclosed box.
Here’s a bit about the trailers that I build. The main frame work that I use is 2″ Square steel tubing with a 1/8″ wall, the tongue is a heavier 2″ Square steel tube with a 1/4″ wall. The rest of the frame work is all 1/8″ wall tubing. I use 14″ or 15″ automotive tires (for ease of replacement), and rims. The axle and suspension is pre-built. The wood that I use for the floor and sides is pressure treated (5/8″ or 3/4″ floor and 1/2″ sides) plywood. The pressure treated plywood can be painted, however this plywood requires no treatment to last YEARS! This pressure treated plywood is guaranteed to outlast regular plywood at least 3 to 1. (The first trailer I built in 2004 has had no wood replaced, and with no maintenance is still just like new) I build trailers to be used both as utility trailers and canoe trailers. When the trailer is balanced the tongue weight is approximately 50 Lbs to limit swaying. (Please understand that this is empty, care must be taken when loading to distribute weight evenly) I am confident that the strength of the frame work on my trailers will exceed the rating of the suspension system. My trailer has been loaded with 1700 Lbs of shingles and I can still manage to move it around by hand without a tongue stand.
The racks on the canoe trailers are made to the specs of the order and are spaced according to the length of the box dictated by the order, typically at 6′ or 8′ spacing. I typically use a 23″ spacing for my racks, however I can change this to match your specifications. I use a rubber belting on the surface of the racks that eliminates the need for any padding on the gunwales of your canoe.
I pride myself in keeping these trailers light and easy towing with an empty weight being around 500 Lbs (for 4’x8′ utility trailer).
I offer different methods of surface finish on the metal surfaces of the trailer. My new trailer was powder coated, other options include galvanizing and preimer and paint. These options greatly affect the pricing of the complete trailer.
I am willing to work with you to design exactly what you want in a trailer. If you want to customize anything I am open to discussion and I will guarantee satisfaction 100%. I have now built 5 trailers, all of the new owners are very happy with the outcome. Four of these trailers were from scratch, and one was built on top of an existing boat trailer frame. On the different posts you will find pictures of all 5 trailers in various stages of assembly. My New Trailer will eventually have many new additions, Canoe Racks, Enclosed Top, and a custom fitted canvas tarp.
If you would like to inquire about having a trailer built or have any other questions please feel free to e-mail me – paddling.rules@gmail.com.

I teach outdoor ed. and am looking for a canoe trailer to house and haul the fleet of canoes that I am hoping to convince my principal to buy. I need something that can haul 8 boats. I like the look of your storage boxes, but this is not a priority and I am willing to leave the box out if it will help save on cost. Can you please give me an approximate quote for an 8-boat, “bare essentials” trailer?
Cheers!
